The Process Configuration application is where different configuration elements like DX profiles and RBA projects are combined to create executeable AdapLink processes. The fully configured processes called “Processing Groups” are subsequently executed interactively or in batch in the Process Execution application and monitored in the Process Monitor application.
Through the Process Configuration application it is also possible to control how parameters are passed to different processing steps. Parameters can be controlled at the process step, the processing group or be provided by the user at run-time through the Process Execution application.
Process Steps and Processing Groups are specific to a Model type. Most AdapLink installations have only one Model Type but if your AdapLink installation will be used to support multiple somewhat unrelated unrelated integration scenarios then it may be useful to set up multiple model types.
Note
Model types enable independent configuration of process steps and processing groups in support of different integration scenarios. Most AdapLink installation have only one model type, but if your AdapLink installation will be supporting multiple unrelated or loosely related integration scenarios then consider creating multiple model types to keep processing steps, processing groups and parameter control separated between the different scenarios.
