An AdapChain customer was using several spread-sheet processes to plan production schedules for several plants. The spreadsheets worked well from a planning perspective. When the spreadsheets were correctly populated they provided good visibility to the plan and made plan-updates easy. Unfortunately it was very difficult to keep the spreadsheets and the ERP system synchronized. Too much valuable planner time was wasted on double data entry of the plan in the spreadsheet and ERP, and on manually keeping the spreadsheet current from a data perspective.

• AdapChain developed a custom integration solution based on AdapLink. The solution made it very easy for the planner to download the current demand situation from the SAP ERP system every morning, integrate it into the planner spreadsheets, update the plan and finally send the production schedule back into the SAP ERP as planned production orders.
  

• Due to the time savings the planner was able to take on a greater role within the supply chain organization.
