Many organizations have over the last few decades implemented ERP systems with the expectation that access to the detailed transaction-level data would lead to important new insights and better decision making. As the initial expectations often weren’t met it became clear that “data” should not be mistaken for actionable information. Many organizations then implemented additional systems for SCM, CRM, or BI to improve decision making, but again found the results disappointing because the underlying data still wasn’t very accurate.

AdapChain early on recognized that many of these disappointments were caused by a lack of appreciation for the importance of data management. Organizations that spend millions on systems and infrastructure often completely failed to ensure that the data feeding these systems is accurate and complete. Without good data there is little to be gained by adding additional systems.
